About Roy Parker

Roy's architectural career began in 1962 when, after completing his schooling in Southern California, he moved to Northern California to work as a draftsman with a local architectural firm. For the next ten years he learned what being an architect was all about and gained invaluable knowledge about all types of construction. Since then he has worked in his own practice and associated with other architectural, engineering and development firms.

In 1984 he satisfied the California State Board of Architectural Examiners. In the early Nineties he had a log structures design/build company in Southern Oregon.

Today, Roy lives with his wife in Redding, California where he is dedicated to bringing the benefits of ProFoundit to his colleagues nationwide.

About ProFoundit

Picture this scenario: You’re in the construction phase of your project. As the project is winding down, you receive a phone call informing you that a product specified for a particular application has been discontinued: no longer available. "What happened?" you ask, "The manufacturer’s most recent catalog indicated it was available."

And so begins the episode of finding the "or equal."

Enter ProFoundit! Our goal is simple: to connect architects, engineers, designers, builders and other building professionals with the products they need to get the job done.

To accomplish this, we have built our search engine on the foundation of the most current CSI Index. From there we have focused on creating a tool that is user-friendly, powerful, current and offers tools that will help you stay organized amidst the chaos.

History

ProFoundit began in 2004 when founder Roy A. Parker II, an architect and entrepreneur, realized that:

The information provided by manufacturers in the form of brochures and catalogs is often out of date
The internet provides a regularly updated and reliable source of product information - vitally necessary during the creation of construction documents

Despite the many benefits offered by the internet, Roy still found it difficult and frustrating to access and organize manufacturers' product information.

So, ProFoundit grew out of Roy’s resolve to provide a way to connect industry professionals with the products they need in the most efficient manner.
